About Underhill House

Underhill House is sacred space for returning to God. Here’s a video introduction:

We are located on Republican, a half block east of Broadway on Seattle’s Capitol Hill (through the side courtyard at All Pilgrims Christian Church). Hours and Location map.

Imagine a place of quiet…where people can slip in; let down and relax; sit undisturbed in contemplation, reflection and prayer; and then leave as they are ready.

Imagine a place of hospitality, where trained listeners can help people find their way. Not get in the way, but be there, truly present.

Imagine a place of welcome, where people of faith or no faith can seek and discover the presence of the holy in their lives.

We are a place for all people, devoted to prayer, holy simplicity and reconnecting people to one another and to God.  We are not a church. Not a counseling center. Not a place to eat or sleep. Instead, a place where people from all walks of life can come together for silence, for prayer, and for connection.

Together, we are creating it. Our partners continue to make this vision a reality. If you are interested in learning more, please visit Underhill House and/or contact our Executive Director and Priest-in-Residence Susan Dean.  We are a Washington State non-profit corporation and a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia (the Episcopal Church in western Washington.)
